Melissa Lantsman MP; University $$ Woes; Liberals Lose Campaign Director; COVID19

Peter has a chat with Melissa Lantsman, MP for Thornhill and also Deputy-Leader of the Conservative Party. We discuss the Singh method for disconnecting from Prime Minister Trudeau, Conservative readiness, and what we can all expect going forward.

Canadian universities are feeling a lot of financial pressure. The feds reduced the number of study permits for international students, hoping to curtail the influx by 35%. It went to 45%. That doesn’t sound bad until you realize that the foreign students help keep our schools alive because they pay significant multiples of what Canadian students do and aid our economy in other ways.

The Liberal Party of Canada has lost its’ Campaign Director and no, not anything to do with events precipitated by the NDP earlier this week. But individual Liberal MPs are speaking out and saying this is going to mean needed change and new focus. Wow! You weren’t saying that publicly last week.

COVID is up in Canada but not to dangerous levels. 54 deaths in the last week of August but that’s still very low when compared to the darker days of 3 years ago.
