Journalist and author Sue Ann Levy joins Peter to talk politics in today’s show.
Politics are coming back into focus as we head into the Labour Day weekend and a soon-to-return Parliament in Ottawa. Polling continues to indicate decimation for the Trudeau Liberals and a majority government for Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives. However, it’s still early days for prediction a year out.
If Poilievre had his ways, the NDP would dissolve its agreement with Justin Trudeau for supporting his minority government. Poilievre wrote to the Conservative leader urging him to break the deal so that a “carbon tax election” can come sooner versus later. He released the letter to media so maybe he’s not so optimistic.
The Liberals have internal squabbles to deal with in a Montreal byelection set for October. 52 Liberals seconded to work on their candidate’s campaign have written to the Prime Minister saying they’ll pull out if he doesn’t adjust the way he leans more towards the Muslim Community as opposed to the Jewish community. Well, that would make two groups that don’t like you Justin.
